Coon lab member Qiuwen Quan was selected by the L&S Faculty Honors Committee to receive a Welton Sophomore Apprenticeship for the summer/fall of 2020. Quan will be working with graduate student Trent Peters-Clarke on characterizing modified intact RNA using NETD mass spectrometry. For her project, she will synthesize RNA by in vitro transcription and analyze the data collected from top-down MS. Quan also received an honorable mention in the UW Sophomore Research Fellowship competition.
