Cell Chemical Biology offers a Preview of a groundbreaking paper from their most recent issue. In it, Reidenbach et al. (2018) importantly demonstrate that COQ8 has an ATPase activity, required for CoQ biosynthesis, that is strongly activated by cardiolipin and small molecule mimics of early CoQ intermediates. This article also inspired the cover art for the issue.
