Why UW-Madison and the Coon Lab?

I came to Madison, Wisconsin because I felt I could grow into the best version of myself here. I am surrounded by some of the brightest minds, and everyone is so supportive. I joined the Coon Laboratory because I want to propel new ideas for analytical techniques and instruments for studying chemistry at the molecular level. The Coon lab offers the people, instruments, and resources I need to be a successful scientist. I am excited to be in this community to continue to foster collaborations while developing Mass Spectrometry.

Currently Working On

My research focus is on the development of new Mass Spectrometry instrumentation. We are currently developing a Mass Spectrometry Ion Soft Landing interface for Electron Microscopy for the purpose of studying protein geometry. Mass Spectrometry and Electron Microscopy are powerful tools that enable high-resolution mass-to-charge selectivity and detailed imaging, respectively. We are enthusiastic about the potential that electron microscopy holds in enhancing the capabilities of Mass Spectrometry.
