Analytical Chemistry Graduate Student
hailing from
San Diego, CA
Undergraduate
Graduated from Carleton College with a B.S. in Chemistry.
Research Experience
I helped develop instrumentation for analytical photovoltaic characterization as an undergraduate researcher. As a R&D technician for the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, I worked on an autonomous dissolved inorganic carbon sensor.
As a graduate student, I am investigating the preformance and characteristics of Activated Ion Electron Transfer Dissociation (AI-ETD) on tribrid mass spectrometers. I hope to identify and act on possible ways to improve AI-ETD.
“The lab’s collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific offers both unique access to modify mass spectrometers, and the ability to have an impact on the greater research community.”
Why did you come to the Coon lab?
I was attracted to the Coon Lab’s novel mass spectrometry developments. The lab’s collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific offers both unique access to modify mass spectrometers, and the ability to have an impact on the greater research community through commercialization. I am eager to learn about the patent process and technology transfer that the industry partnership affords.
