Why the Coon lab?
I have always been interested in the medical field, specifically regarding the biological underpinnings of disease and treatment. After taking computer science classes, my interest for programming grew as I discovered the prominence of computers in the healthcare industry. The Coon Lab is a perfect place to explore these interests as the group advances biomedical research through the analysis of biological molecules. In addition, the diverse projects in the lab will allow me to further my understanding of the function and importance of mass spectrometry analysis in the biomedical field while learning more about the roles of different proteins and metabolites.

Currently Working On
I work with my mentor, Trent, to analyze mass spectrometry data. I plan to use my computer programming knowledge to more efficiently analyze mass spectrometry data. Additionally, I will study more about proteomics, various ion activation methods, and the physics behind mass spectrometers.
